As a **Project Engineer II** , you will oversee field activities, such as subsurface investigations and construction observation, and ensure the timely delivery of client deliverables. You will independently perform complex geotechnical calculations, review designs, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to project planning. In addition, you will guide junior staff and serve as a direct interface with clients and regulatory agencies.

**Responsibilities**

+ Independently execute engineering designs, studies, and technical calculations

+ Manage portions of projects or small projects from scoping through final deliverables

+ Review and develop technical specifications, construction documents, and cost estimates

+ Conduct and oversee field investigations, construction monitoring, and data analysis

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering

+ 5+ years of progressive engineering experience

+ Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required

+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; travel as needed

+ Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) and project documentation tools

+ Solid knowledge of industry regulations, construction practices, and risk management

Project Engineer

Advisor to Project Management

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Engineer plays a crucial role in bridging technical mining expertise with mining operations by providing insights through engineering guidance, driving operational efficiency, financial accountability, and long-term project success. This position is responsible for analyzing operational data, preparing engineering designs/operational GPS support, conducting field data collection, and production forecasting.

By integrating engineering principles, the role provides support for optimizing mining operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and evaluating potential efficiency improvements. Additionally, it involves collaboration with Turner Mining Group and client teams, ensuring alignment between corporate objectives, site-level execution, and regulatory compliance.

This role requires a strong operational mindset, familiar with MSHA safety guidelines, industry knowledge, and the ability to analyze complex data into actionable recommendations. With a focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and project execution, the Project Engineer is integral to enhancing both operational performance and efficiency at Turner Mining Group.

Position Responsibilities:

Operational & Technical Analysis

• Review operational reports (cost, safety, production) and analyze data for key trends.

• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Conduct risk assessments for operational, technical, and financial aspects of mining projects.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize mine planning, design, and extraction techniques.

• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and drive improvements.

Mine Engineering & Survey Duties

• Manage fleet management and high precision GPS systems.

• Develop Drill & Blast pattern, profile, and timing designs and short-range plans.

• Produce road designs, stockpile and waste storage designs, and others in Hexagon MineSight.

• Operate survey drones and reconcile results.

• Analyze FMS and other data for risks and opportunities.

• Audit and advise client on short range mine plans.

Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Turner Mining departments and external stakeholders to define project scopes and execution strategies.

• Act as a technical link between client technical services and project management to ensure alignment on operational objectives.

• Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives, such as internal workshops and training, to support operational and analytical capabilities across teams.

• Engage with suppliers and service providers to optimize procurement strategies for project operations.

Compliance and Safety Integration

• Ensure that all engineering recommendations align with MSHA safety regulations and industry best practices.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational and safety processes.

• Provide technical guidance to ensure site compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

Education and Experience

• Mining or Civil Engineering Degree or related.

• 3 years of mine site engineering or operational experience.

• Hands-on experience with mining engineering software (Hexagon MineSight preferred or similar).

• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

• Part 107 drone license preferred

• Procurement and mine accounting experience preferred

Technical and Analytical Skills

• Strong problem-solving and data analysis capabilities.

• Ability to translate complex engineering data into actionable recommendations.

• Knowledge of drill & blast design, mine haulage analysis, and GPS fleet management.

• Familiarity with mine accounting and procurement processes (preferred but not required).

**Compensation Overview**

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

**What Will You Do?**

+ This position is a technical individual contributor role in the Mainframe Engineering (MOSE) team. The team is responsible for all aspects of the evaluation, configuration, security, implementation, and support of the z/OS operating system, RACF, disk/tape storage and subsystems, and Communications Server for multiple business groups. The ideal candidate will have experience with mainframe HSM and SMS, CA1, AT-TLS, certificate renewals, encryption key management and activation, as well as other z/OS supporting tools.

+ Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming specifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions.

+ Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.

Description

This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with a mix of work spent in office and working remote from home.

Responsibilities:

+ This position will offer you the ability to directly apply your knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems for HV and EHV substations. As a Project Lead of an engineering and design team, you will work on a wide range of substation modifications and upgrades to support client requirements and reviews including creating calculations, document designs, and specifications.

+ You will be responsible for preparing relaying philosophies, including selecting relay, control, and communications equipment, developing SCADA and telecommunication concepts and configurations, and overseeing the preparation of I/O assignments and connection diagrams.

+ As a Project Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for guiding junior and senior-level engineers and designers in protection and controls engineering design efforts, including providing guidance with the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of the engineering work.

+ You will work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering issues.

+ You will perform analysis and design of single line diagrams, substation relaying & metering diagrams (i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), and D.C. Schematic diagrams.

+ Prepare engineering studies for client and peer review.

+ Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation.

+ Coordinate and provide guidance to other engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure a complete and timely design.

+ Experience in writing and providing support documentation for relay calculations.

+ Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

+ Proficiency with any of the following programs: SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, CDEGS, or vendor software.

+ Familiarity with design codes and standards, such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.

+ Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substation protection, including SEL, ABB, GE, Areva, and Basler.

+ Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Sargent Aerospace & Defense products are found on many major Commercial and Military aircraft in operation worldwide. Sargent has an immediate opening for a Hydraulics Design Engineer to support the Marine product line.

Purpose & Scope:

The Design Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for applying the principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems in design, manufacturing, research & development, sales, inspection, and maintenance. The employee in this role will collaborate with peers within all the key business units to provide a robust & timely solution to the customers' current and future design challenges.

Enhance your technical skills while working closely with management and the rest of the team on multiple projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

+ Perform engineering analysis (stress, FEA, fatigue) and apply problem-solving methods to support new product development and/or sustaining production of existing designs.

+ Create new designs for conformance to customer requirements & and proper application of engineering principles.

+ Apply, evaluate, and optimize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to facilitate inspection and manufacturing.

+ Write test plans and test reports in support of new programs to demonstrate compliance to customer specifications.

+ Interact with customers to clarify design intent and technical requirements.

+ Maintain accurate, orderly project records, including design and test data, customer specifications, directives, etc.

+ Direct designers & drafters in design concepts and optimization to meet strict deadlines.

+ Provide engineering assistance on development and qualification test programs.

+ Provide engineering assistance to members on the Material Review Board (MRB) to facilitate disposition of non-conforming products.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.

+ 3+ years of design or manufacturing engineering experience. Lower levels of experience combined with advanced degree work may be considered.

+ Proficiency with 3D modeling software (Pro/Engineer or CREO preferred).

+ Proficiency with Geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.

+ Prior experience with finite element analysis (FEA), ANSYS preferred.

+ Prior exposure to fatigue analysis, fastener analysis, and material & process control.
